The Civil War in Lenoir County

On March 4-5, 2006, the Historic Preservation Group and the Lenoir County Battlefields Commission will co-host a Living History and Battle Reenactment weekend in Lenoir County.

Battle reenactments will be held both Saturday and Sunday featuring "The Capture of the 15th Connecticut" and "Hoke's Flank Attack."

Living history programs include a full-scale reproduction of the C.S.S. Hunley, civilian, artillery, cavalry, infantry, and medical demonstrations.

Admission: $5 per person 12 and under free

Camps open at 9 am and close at 5 pm each day.

The reenactment site is located on Hwy 258 South, 1/4 mile south of intersection of Hwy 70.

Sponsored by the Historical Preservation Group, the Lenoir County Battlefields Commission, and the Kinston Convention & Visitors Bureau.
