 | It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Kinston. For the second consecutive year downtown business owners had the opportunity to participate in a holiday decorating contest.
Donna Hardy, owner of the The Briary on Herritage Street captured the top honor in the Light Up Downtown competition. | | |
The kickoff for the decorations promotion was held Nov. 21 at the Pride of Kinston office, the same evening the lighted holly trees lining Queen Street were turned on. Winners were announced Tuesday at a reception held at the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce office. Alice Tingle, representing Pride of Kinston, presented the awards.
Second place was awarded to Kay Albritton of the Boutique by the Neuse. Natural Body Pilates, owned by Leraine Collier took third place honors and Drake Janitorial Service was awarded honorable mention.
