Realtors' board installs new officers

Carolyn Craig, of Century 21 Harry H. Cummings, was installed as the new president of the Kinston Board of Realtors at the annual installation banquet Tuesday.Craig has been associated with real estate in Kinston for more than 25 years.

Deborah Hood, of ERA Montague and Associates, is the new vice president and Kathy Heckman, of Poole Realty, takes over as secretary-treasurer.

Jackie Conway, of Coldwell Banker, Conway and Company, Realtors, was named Realtor of the Year. Conway has been a member of the Kinston Board of Realtors for 10 years and is married to Mark R. Conway Jr. She has been a multi-million dollar producer each year she has been with the Realtors' board.

Craig presented the outgoing president’s plaque to Deens Kornegay, of Coldwell Baker, and thanked him for his service in 2005.

Board attorney Joe Bower, of White and Allen, P.A., presided at the event. Elected officials attending were Kinston Mayor Buddy Ritch and Kinston Councilman Van Braxton. Other special guests included City Manager Ralph Clark and Pride of Kinston Executive Director Adrian King.
