Investigators are looking for two more people in connection with the
Wednesday night shooting of an 18-year-old Kinston man.
Tony Pernell Rouse, 18, and Leslie Conner Jr., also 18, are believed to have been involved in the shooting of Marquez Williams. Police say 22-year-old Adrian Holloway shot Williams in the abdomen Wednesday. Rouse and Conner are believed to have been with Holloway at the time of the shooting. Williams remains in critical condition at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
"We haven't been able to talk to the victim yet," Kinston Public Safety Department Cmdr. Greg Thompson said.
The names of Rouse and Conner came from people who witnessed the shooting, which occurred about 8:20 p.m. at the corner of Bright and McDaniels streets, Thompson said.
"They may have had weapons," Thompson said, but police don't know if Rouse and Conner fired at Williams. "They were definitely with the shooter. We don 't know their role yet."
Investigators still have not determined how many shots were fired during the incident.
Rouse's last known address was 904 E. Bright St. He is also known as Ba Ba. Conner's last known address was 1203 E. Shine St. He is also known as Snowman. Neither man has a record of convictions with the state Department of Corrections.
Police are still searching for Holloway, who is believed to be the person who shot Williams. Holloway is a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs about 145 pounds. He has an extensive criminal record dating back to February 2001, according to N.C. Department of Corrections records. He has been convicted of disorderly conduct, assault, breaking and entering and five counts of robbery, and was last released from prison in June 2005.
Anyone who saw the shooting or has any information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers, 523-4444, or Thompson at 939-3188. |
