God is always making the move toward us. He sought out guilty Adam and Eve who hid in the garden. He knew where they were but, liking a loving parent, gave them a chance for a merciful confrontation. He gave them the promise of deliverance: In the future He would send One who would crush Satan and bear sins -- the Christ.

The familiar portrayal of the Lord as a Shepherd who seeks the lost sheep encourages us who tend to wander. The Babe born in Bethlehem became the Shepherd who laid down His life for us sheep on the cross. That's all us sheep! What a move!
In some football game, someone showed a sign: John 3:16. Maybe not all knew the reference. Those who did saw God making a move with His heart opened to all: God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Quite a Christmas gift!
God moves toward us because by nature we can't move toward Him: Ephesians 2:1 reads, “And you He made alive, you who were dead in sin and trespasses.” If you are wrestling with a guilt-burdened heart, here is glad tidings of great joy for you: All guilt, all sin, all pain, all death has been put on Jesus on the cross. God has made His move to reconcile the world to Himself. The resurrection of Christ affirms this. He includes you in His move.
